I am Yolan Eke, an Australian artist living and working in the Gold Coast hinterland.Many people ask what influences my work; the answer is broad but if I had to simplify it I would say it is my background in interior design and a rich tapestry of global experiences—from my early years in Brisbane and two decades in New Zealand to recent years in Spain—my art embraces spontaneity and venturing beyond rigid boundaries.

I was so impressed with Yolan’s work that I knew I wanted her to commission an art piece. From the moment I spoke with her, we got along. She was energetic, bubbly and so open to new ideas. I am the very lucky owner of two original artworks by Yolan. I am an avid supporter of local Australian artists. Art must evoke an emotional reaction in me… draw me in & call me to make it part of my precious home sanctuary; Yolan’s art is relatable yet unique. As an Australian coastal resident many destinations she draws her inspiration from are familiar, yet she layers a sense of longing to be taken back, to immerse yourself in its simplicity & the calmness that palm trees & blue serene waters bring to our souls.
